Privacy policy

Cadence is an intimacy journal for couples. That makes everything you put in it sensitive, and this policy is written with that in mind. The short version: your entries belong to your space, only the two accounts in that space can read them, we don’t sell or share anything, and you can delete it all.

Who is responsible

Cadence is operated as an independent service. Questions, requests, and complaints about your data go to hello@cadencebang.me. We answer from that address only.

What we store

Account: your email address and a hashed password. We never see the password itself.
Your space: which two accounts are in it, the names you choose to display, and your settings.
Journal content you enter: entries (date, kind, outcome, positions, location, duration, ratings, notes), wishlist items, cycle dates, and, if you use it, your toy library and its photos.
Catalog interactions: your ratings and “want to try” marks on positions.
Technical: when your account last opened the app (for the “last seen” feature between partners), and Web Push subscriptions if you turn notifications on.

We do not collect your name, location, contacts, or anything from your device beyond what you type.

Who can see it

Only the two accounts in your space. This is enforced in the database with row-level security: every stored row is tagged with your space, and the database refuses any request from an account that is not a member. Solo entries and the toy library can additionally be limited to one of the two accounts.

Operators of the service can, in principle, access the database for maintenance. We do not browse member content, and we only touch individual records to resolve a support request you have made.

The position library (names, captions, descriptions, images) is public and shared by all members. Your ratings and marks on it are not.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase (database, authentication, file storage) and the app is served by Vercel. Both act as processors on our behalf. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest on their infrastructure. Transactional email (confirmation and password-reset links) is sent through Resend.

Cookies and tracking

We set only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. There is no advertising, no cross-site tracking, and no third-party analytics scripts on the public pages. The app may record anonymous error and performance reports to help us fix problems; these contain no journal content.

Notifications

If you enable them, we store a push subscription for that device. The text of every notification is deliberately generic (“An entry is waiting for your rating”) so nothing sensitive appears on a lock screen. Turn them off in Settings at any time.

Your rights

Export: download your entries as a spreadsheet from Settings → Data at any time.
Delete: Settings → Account → Delete my account removes your login, your seat in the space, and your push subscriptions immediately. Shared entries stay with your partner while they keep their account; when the last member leaves, the whole space is deleted.

Age

Cadence is for adults only. You must be at least 18 to create an account.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we say so on this page and update the date at the top. Continued use after that means you accept the change.
